Director Christian Larson captures the band in a unique fly on the wall manner as they decide to call it quits and seek closure by finally going on the tour they had always dreamed of.
With breath-taking live moments, huge laughs and dark lows, the band start to unravel why they came to the decision to end the biggest achievement of their lives to date to save their friendship. As the tour finale edges closer and closer, the debate of why it’s all happening becomes more intense.
The film maps out three of the biggest stars in the Electronic scene, a scene which has gripped youth the world over, the insight into this world, the psychology of the band, plus the sheer scale of the tour itself and the band’s achievements. This is one film not to be missed. '''

MOVIE REVIEW QUOTES FOR SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA - LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND

LOS ANGELES TIMES

“Once the band announces their impending demise (with unnervingly good humor in press interviews), the movie becomes more of a straightforwardly beautiful concertdoc,”

“That said, the film is a considerable addition to the modern concert-doc genre and a fair, appealing look behind the vapid EDM Peace-Love-Unity-Respect veneer, and into the lived experience of a band who had the gumption or boneheadedness to call it off in the midst of achieving everything they wanted.”

INDIE NYC /Radio .com

“The film maps out three of the biggest stars in a scene which has gripped youth the world over and the psychology of the band.”

Beatport

“It’s a film that made me laugh, made me wonder about what could have been, and made me think about what footage was left on the cutting room floor. But more than anything, it gave me goosebumps.”

MXDWN.COM

“Thematically and emotionally, Larson has just about nailed it.”
“this is a must watch for fans and a very enjoyable documentary for newcomers to the world of house music.”

EXPRESSIONS - Sweden

“"Leave the world behind" is yummy for anyone wondering what really happened with music miracle that sold out Madison Square Garden in 20 minutes and then decided to shut down the operations. “

“It's a great music documentary that gets a skeptical Northerner to throw on a colorful bikini and take the next flight to the Ultra Festival in Miami and dance to euphoric beats all night.”

MovieZine – Sweden

“In all its simplicity, "Leave the World Behind” is a lavish backstage documentary that manages to highlight the phenomenon of Swedish House Mafia in a spellbinding way.”

“I was forcing myself holding down my fist in the theater. I just wanted to go up and pump it.”
